Coolant fluid ?? diesel vs gas??
I just bought some 50/50 coolant mix for my cummins 8.3 diesel engine. The auto parts store said there's no difference in coolant between diesel and gas engines. Is this true? Any recommendations...

This summer I drained it all out, flushed it all out of the system and replaced with Rotella ELC- extended life coolant that is red. It is not compatible with green antifreeze so under no circumstances can they be mixed. But they are made for diesel engines. and will last up to 600,000 miles.
It has been my understanding that there are ELC coolants that are green in color that are designed to be used in wet lined diesel engines. As an example "Peak" has an ELC that is supposed to be rated for use in lined engines that is green in color.
