Thank-you for all the suggestions. To my knowledge(I don't have any receipts showing a coolant change)so I'm guessing that the coolant and thermostat have never been changed.
I was wondering if the coolant was aged out and could cause the engine to run hotter than what it used to be. A coolant and thermostat change will probably be the first thing I do to see if it starts running at 195 degrees again.
It has a rear side mounted radiator with a hydraulic fan so the suggestions of bugs, grill guards, and fan clutch don't really apply in this set-up. I do check those things on my other vehicles though.
Thanks to the poster about checking for a weak or partially collapsed hose. I hadn't thought of that and will do that next time I have it at operating temperature.
On edit...I have heard that "water wetter" is a good product, but I don't add anything to the coolant except what Cummins recommends.
