Had read about Copilot App for smartphone/tablet on the forum. Would like to put it on our smartphone, but cannot find out how much memory it takes up. Their web site does not provide any detail, all it says is that you need sufficient memeory. Sent email to them, but have not gotten a reply. Have about 4gig availalble on phone. Does any one know what the memory requirememts are?? Thanks!

You can load up maps by region or the whole country. One think I recommend is to make sure your phone can load apps onto the sd card. I would recommend a minimum of 8gb card, which is the smallest you can get these days. . If you're unsure about being able to save programs to sThe SD card, download the trial.

For those using the ap with a tablet, what device are you using for the gps antenna?

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (7" non-cellular) which has GPS capabilities. Total space used with the North America map is 2.11GB. 2.05GB is stored on the 32GB SD card with the rest on device memory. Blue Tooth to the dash radio and connects to the world thru my cell phone hot spot capabilities.Have only used the app and tablet in the car a few times but has worked pretty well. Should get lots of use in a few weeks when the temps warm up a bit more. I wanted a large screen GPS but couldn't get past the price of currently available devices. Using a low cost tablet ($160) that does more than just assist with navigation fit with my usage plans. Like multitasking stuff in the coach.

I use CoPilot on my iPhone 6 plus and my iPad Air, both of which have GPS and can be mounted near the dash. I prefer the iPad's bigger screen in the RV for quickly identifying turns and other info on the screen that is in smaller fonts, etc. I use the iPhone in my Wrangler toad.

Howdy!

I'e been using Co-Pilot on my Samsung tablets and smartphones for a few years withbout problems they have gps's. Most tablets that have a data connection will also have gps capability.

I didn't load NA Maps. Just the ones I plan to use. No need to download stuff I don't use. I hate that on the SE maps, I only plan on visiting 2 states and midwest just one state.

I use Sygic, which competes with Co-Pilot.

On my phone it uses 85mb currently with California, Oregon, Neveda, and Arizona installed.

I can add or drop any State at any time I have a Wifi or Broadband connection.

We currently use it on two Samsung S3 phones and one Samsung TabPro 10.1 tablet.

I made the arm rest as this winter's project for the coach so the placement of the tablet was preplanned for easy access and viewing. Got the holder from AMAZON.

I am using a LG Tab 8.3. Built in GPS and Cellular. For the holder, I am using a Ram Mount small tablet holder. RAM Mount has lots of great holders.
