The actual cost depends on you engine. My C-12 takes 36 qts so I figure that about $150 just for the oil. Add in the cost of a filter and disposal of the old oil plus a modest profit, the $300.00 +/_ sounds reasonable. A lot of places also do a chassis inspection and will you know if anything else needs to be addressed.
Fromm my perspective there is no way I'm going to handle 10 gallons of hot oil plus lug it someplace for disposal to save a few $$$. Let the professionals deal with the mess.
