The hour meter is likely powered by AC from the generator, so no AC means no generator time.
That may be a helpful observation, actually; if you trace back where the hour meter connects to the generator, you know the problem is occurring before that point, which probably exonerates the transfer switch at the minimum.
ALL Genset Hourmeters are 12 volt driven. Stuck Genset hourmeters are common when there are few hours on the hourmeter. Lack Of movement causes them to freeze up. Doug
