Creative ideas on ladder rack for Dodge Xplorer

I have a 1983 Dodge Xplorer 228 and its got a round roof. I don't think a typical ladder rack would mount on the roof, for one there is nothing to mount onto. But I wonder if I could modify an existin...

I'm in the same boat with the same question (how I found this thread). Were the side gutters strong enough to hold the weight of a rack? The side rails on my Xplorer look pretty wimpy.
