Slumgullion Pass is very beautiful (although between Creede and LC, you will be astonished by the huge area of beetle-killed spruce). It's a long descent into Lake City. To our astonishment, on New Year's Eve, when we headed to Lake City to go to Bruno's French Restaurant's NYE dinner, we passed a big motorhome climbing up the pass toward Creede, towing a Jeep like ours. We waved and flashed our lights and he probably thought we were warning him of something. So, yes, you can take a big rig over that pass.
