In your steering column there are several plugs in the wiring harness. The plastic covers come off fairly easily. Sometimes these plugs can come loose.
I had the same problem with mine and found that the telescopic part of the steering column was jammed down and when I released it things worked better.
It also could be your Smart wheel controller under the dash.
