A bit off subject, but I would suggest not using cruise control at all. Imagine what would happen if the driver had a medical emergency. The vehicle would just keep going forward without being steered and who knows where it would go and damage that might occur to life and property. Just my thoughts.
That will happen anyway. As a test, get to highway speed, then just take your foot off the accelerator. Keeps going, doesn't it? The problem will be steering, not acceleration.
BOBBO can you explain the statement you just made??
Yes:
1. get on the highway
2. get up to speed
3. take your foot off the accelerator
4. see if the car stops or keeps going.
If it doesn't stop, the lack of a driver will cause you to run off the road, or head into oncoming traffic because no one is steering.
