Cruise Control Problems

I appreciate the suggestions, although I was kind of wondering about the last suggestion, I understand now, I'm 59 yrs old, but not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.:h

Bobbo tks for clearing this up for me...duhh dumb me I guess whn you get to 73 yrs of age things come to you a little slower that usual..happy camping my friend..

Yes:

1. get on the highway
2. get up to speed
3. take your foot off the accelerator
4. see if the car stops or keeps going.

If it doesn't stop, the lack of a driver will cause you to run off the road, or head into oncoming traffic because no one is steering.

He's saying that if you become incapacitated at the wheel it's not going to matter whether the cruise control is on or not.

I appreciate the infoe Carlos, it's something I'll keep in mind if I ever get the thing to work.

Not really related to your problem, but a few years ago I had a 1994 Class C motorhome. It was a Ford E350. I was on the highway and had the cruise control on. When traffic slowed ahead, I tried to take it off cruise, but nothing happened. Stepping on the brakes did not help, nor shutting off the cruise control. For a few seconds, I was helpless, and continued at some 65 plus, until it finally disengaged. It was a very scary moment. I never found out what happened.

I checked the fuse and the contacts on the fuse holder were pretty clean.

On another forum an owner had an issue with the cruse control and fixed it by reseating the fuse. Not saying this is your issue but as old as the RV is the contacts could be dirty. Just thought it would be better to clear the simple stuff before spending money.
