Yes it was a good price, I hired a retired union worker that has been a welder and sheet metal worker for many years, he did not need to make much money, just wanted to stay busy and have fun building things, I acutely have a little over $5000 invested by buying the trailer valet and adding bunks for the boat and minor misc items but it still great deal compared to what other companies are charging.
The best part about custom built is its not much longer than the Jeep and is a few inches narrower than the motorhome to make it as easy as flat towing, almost..
It is SO nice...
I gotta tell ya that the description of the fella that did the build made me chuckle a bit- I'm married to a retired guy with welding skills. He's not as experienced as your guy, and just between you, me, and the enormous discard pile behind our shop, he still makes a few welding mistakes.
He'd undertake a project like this in a heartbeat, but I'd bet it would wind up costing us twice what it did you! :B
