I am more concerned about "old farts" running around in 45,000 to 50,000 lb. motor homes than I am someone "engineering" strength to a hitch to increase load carrying capacity by 600 lbs..

Frankly it appears that what he did keeps up to or even exceeds the standard motorhome framing he has .
And, just wondering how do you know is an old fart the cause this accident with the motorhome You quoted ??????

It certainly wasn't a 45 to 50,000 lbs motorhome. At the same time he was an experienced and skilled driving instructor.
