Here in Nevada at 3000lbs or more GVW brakes and brake away system must be installed, I passed inspection at DMV here with no issues.
I wanted to have the GVW rated at 7000lbs but on home built trailers they will not rate the GVW here in Nevada, they just wanted the trailer weight, however I am legal as to brakes and brake away for all 50 states.
Home built means I did not hire a certified license trailer builder, so Nevada does not give GVW on what they call home built.
I suspect lbligh will be leaving a comment about the trailer not being factory certified.
