Only concern I see is the drop hitch bottoming out on steep driveway approaches and such. Being you got a great fabricator look at modifying the hitch of the trailer so it is higher and the you can use a basic drop hitch with only a inch or two of drop.
Yea on a test run I went into a gas station to check out the clearance and it did hit the pavement but not by much, thinking of getting a fixed drop hitch that rides about a 1/2 inch higher and that will also eliminate the lower ball on the current drop hitch that sticks down about 2 inches, I believe that will work for now, dang paid $130 for that drop hitch, well I will just unload it on Craigslist for half.
timmac,
Check at Tractor supply. I picked up a 6" drop "Reese" there that is a solid milled hitch, no welding. I seen them as large as 10" drops and they all had a 12000 lb rate. Great hitch.
