Yep - have pics and video. Have filed with my insurance but its the dealers responsibility and they are stepping up, so no need for them to engage at this point. I agree that it should only take a week or two to repair but when have you ever seen RV repairs done in a reasonable amount of time?
Msmith1199 - hit the nail on the head. They locked it up with a cat in it. Poor thing tore everything up trying to get out plus anything with cat urine on it gets replaced including the subfloor.
Someone out there has had to have their RV damaged by others - did you try to get compensated for out of service time by their insurance?
You may want to talk to your own insurance company and see what they tell you about loss of use compensation. This question has come up on here before I don't recall seeing anybody give a good answer. Lots of opinions, but no answer. Part of the problem is there has to be some type of limit. If loss of use can be compensated, does that mean they have to put all your out of town guests up at a hotel, does that mean they have to pay you five grand for missing a vacation?
I can tell you when I first bought my motorhome, because of dealer screw-ups it was in the shop for a month. I was ticked off because I had traded in my perfectly good motorhome and this lost month was August so I didn't have a motorhome for a chunk of the summer. The manufacturer ended up making that one month motorhome payment for me as a settlement. I was happy with that, but I still missing the camping time.
