Damon Hornet side puckering

Hi all I am new to the forum and appreciate advice from all. We have had TT before but are going to fulltime starting this fall with a C class. Were using this time to learn as much as possible about class cs. we are looking in the $10,000 range so are somewhat limited.

we just looked at a Damon Hornet 1995 42,000 miles that had a rebuilt cab over and some slight (it appears)water damage in the rear bedroom area. didn't look to be severe inside. the exterior sides appear to be covered with a vinyl or fiberglass smooth siding and has puckering in several areas. Is this a delamination due to water? How can I tell if the wall is punky or significantly damaged. I realize in this price range things wont be perfect and can live with that. I just want to avoid a camper that will fall apart on the highway.

What is the best way to determine wall/ceiling integrity?
Thanks for all advice

  • Unfortunately, good inexpensive units are hard to find. If you are persistent and patient, you'll find one.
  • Well thanks to everyone for your shared wisdom. Ill scratch that one. Is it possible to find something without water damage it the 10,000 price range? it seems like a pretty prevalent problem?
I will continue to seek advice on my purchase efforts and appreciate your advice.
    Thanks
  • Save your $10,000 because $10,000 more than that won't fix it! It will be a heartbreaking experience if you put your money here. As the others said "Run, don't walk away from this one".
  • Run don't walk away from this unit.

Water damage may not LOOK bad, until you start to do repairs!:(
  • One of the hardest things to fix is water damage. My advice is to keep looking. Matter of fact run from that one.
