Dash Air suddenly quit

Leaving the house the other day in the Coach. Turned on the dash Air and it was Blowing cold, suddenly it was not. Blower is working fine, but no longer cold. I’ve checked the fuses for the compressor and other air conditioning related components but have found nothing. I can’t imagine it would have a sudden loss of Freon without some sort of damage to the line. Anybody have any luck troubleshooting these?

2008 American Coach Tradition with 425 ISL Cummins.

Thanks

  • If it's a Denso system, PM me, I have a manual for them. Electric heater valve may have failed and you are re-heating the cooled air.
  • If you had a hose burst while driving, you wouldn't hear it and would have an instant loss of cooling. I know someone that that had it happen to him. Check your pressures first.
  • If the compressor is turning, you have sufficient Freon to close the low pressure cut-off switch. If your Freon was lost, the compressor would not be turning. Going to need some pressure gauges to see what is going on. Compressor could have internal seal or vane failures where it spins but is no longer compressing the Freon.

Does that include the belt that drives the compressor?

Belts are good and compressor is turning.
  • Did you look to see if the compressor is turning? Electric clutch may have failed.
