Dash Board Reflections.and Sun Glare.

In our Class A Gulf Stream, the dashboard under the windshield is a light Cream color. When driving into the sun, the reflections off this into the windshield makes it very difficult to see. Last time we were out, I had the DW take a thin plush throw and put it across the dash. It completely eliminated the problem at absolutely no cost. Later, she cut the throw, and hemmed the edges to make it fit without a lot hanging off. Looks good, and eliminates the glare problem completely!!

I have a nice dark fleece "Throw" that cost me exactly nothing (Prize from Paw Points) I can toss on the dash.. Or under the cats.
  • I have the same problem with a Ford 550 I drive P/T for a local company. The light gray vinyl dash reflects the light and makes it look like I am looking through a fog. Accidently discovered that a black cloth jacket thrown up there stopped the reflection and made the drive more pleasant. I use black material (no idea what it is) up there now. Saves lots of eye strain
  • FYI...there are several companies that make dash covers for motorhomes just like for cars. Not that expensive and solves the problem. That's the only reason we have a dash cover on our motorhome is to prevent sun glare. Google it!!
  • I was really amazed at how well it worked. Ours is a dark red, I wonder what other colors would work best?
  • My Discovery has the same problem, we also use a towel but it sounds like you took it a step further!;)
