Dash radio

Just trying to figure this out. When connected to electric source, does the dash radio run on electric or draw from the engine batteries? Want to make extra sure I don't kill the engine start batteries if I use the radio/cd for an extended period of time.

    Answer is complex.

    On some motor homes there is a switch, Main/Aux (normally) switching to AUX means you can play the dash radio WITHOUT putting a key in the ignition and it draws off the house battery.

    On some that is not an option but being plugged into shore power charges the chassis battery so no problem

    On some it is a problem.
