Dashboard vandalized

I recently bought a 2004 Georgetown XL 370M. I had a break in and 2 TV's were taken, but the worse part is they destroyed my dash to get to a stereo. Forest River says they do not have the unit and I have tried all salvage yards with no luck. Any ideas where to fine one or someone who can fabricate one would certainly be appreciated.

  • I had the same problem when someone tried to steal the stereo out of my Honda Accord. They did over 800 dollars in damage to the vehicle and destroyed the stereo trying to remove it. They ended up getting caught walking out of the parking garage with a half dozen cassettes. They agreed to testify against the rest of the gang and got off with probation.

    Custom RV dashboards
  • Gamblers RV in Quartzsite , Az. Last time I was in there they had an assortment of various original equipment dashes with instruments and switches as well as lots of loose stuff.
  • Could you post a photo so we can see what you are up against?
Also what does your insurance Co. Have to say?

I'm not sure what your dash looks like but I have had Best Buy install a few stereos for me in cars. There are various install kits that cover up part of the dash. You might explore the aftermarket stuff, and either a chain store like Best Buy or your local stereo shop.
  • All I can think of is look for aftermarket stuff.... You know, I know this may sound strange, but if a thief came up to me and told me "last night I was going to break into your RV window and tear out your radio and steal your TV's but thought I'd rather come and ask you for $100 today instead... I think I may just give it to him. I know it sounds crazy, but way more $ and hassle are done after the fact. What could the radio be worth along with the install, and the TV be worth, in comparison to the dash or other things they break.
  • Try Northwest RV Supply. They have dash components for a lot of RV's.
