Deciding on pros & cons of different revs

As retirement approaches, we r thinking about rving. We have never owned one. I have been on the Chinook & Rialta listservs but not sure of these & would like other suggestions. We would prefer one where the bed can remain up all the time. The convertible dinette/bed makes me wonder if they r comfortable enough for a good nite sleep. However we do not want a big rig...would prefer one u could park in a parking spot....20,21,22 ish maybe a touch bigger. We like the quality of the Chinooks but not sure if it is spacious enough. The roadtrek seems too small.any discussion or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • If you have never RV'd before, you may start small but end up a bit bigger down the line. Thus I would say get the 25 or 26 foot that will fit in most campgrounds without difficulty. You won't regret it
  • A permanent bed in 22' will be hard to find. Even in 24' range thety are typically corner beds. If you are OK with climbing in/out cab over bed, you can find some shorter class Cs. Finding one to park in a single spot might be tough too.

I think I recently saw a Winnie ERA floorplan that did have permanent bed in rear instead of sofa conversion bed.

Also, some B's and C's have two twin beds in back that are permanent.
