Depreciation

Is there any reliable information on the internet that would show the depreciation rates for USED Motorhomes? I have done a preliminary search but can't find any useful information so far. I am hoping someone on here can direct me to a website or spreadsheet that might help me. Note that I am NOT asking for opinions about whether to buy or not to buy, I am looking for actual numbers on Class C Motorhomes. In my case I have a ten year old MH and I am wondering what the rate of depreciation might be over the next several years.

I don't know that there's a hard-and-fast rule, but PPL has a page where you can see actual selling prices for used rigs that have passed through their place recently. Comparing those to "new" price (if known) might be very informative for you.

Great website. Thanks for the information.

They lose 35% off the price you paid or 35% off MSRP?

I got 30% off MSRP on my 2013 class C. Did I lose %35 on top of that?

That would mean my 2013 Class C with MSRP of 86k is now worth 39k!

    LOL That is not good!

  • Both suggestions are good ones. There is no real hard cut and dried answer to your question. It's a combination of all the above. I look at nada through different years for the same MH. That gives me an idea of value over a couple of years. Remember that the minute you drive it off the lot you lose 35% or more in value on a new rig. RV's like cars are not an investment, they lose value and take $$$$$$ to upkeep.
