The vast majority are gas. Not everyone has the extra money to get a DP. I've had both. My Newmar Canyon star is as nice as most DP's. A gasser will go anywhere and climb a hill as good as a DP with very little fuel mileage difference. I've put several thousand miles on both. Sometimes I think owning a DP more about bragging rights. There's always something bigger, prettier and faster. Doesn't mean a thing. Get what you like in your price range and enjoy it. One of my friends has an old vintage Travco MH and he gets more attention than the Prevost people and appears to have more fun with it. He's had it all over the country and gets 6 mpg on a good day.
