I was told that we could get HD if we switched to Dish TV
You can get most of the Dish HD channels with a NEW Winegard Dome. But be advised that is NOT good for 2 recievers. The Dish HD channels are on 3 sats and the dome will only lock onto 1 sat at a time. So, if using 2 receivers, 1 receiver will be the primary and the other the slave. The primary reception will determine what sat of the 3 you will be on depending on the channel you select. Once you select a channel, the primary will tell the dome to go to that sat. The slave receiver will then only be able to watch channels on THAT 1 sat. If the slave wants to go to a channel on another sat, it cannot. When the primary goes to a channel that is on the other sats, the dome will move to THAT sat and the slave will then lose reception on that sat for the channel it was on. The BEST way to get Dish or Direct is to go with a Dish or Direct Winegard Travler model auto raise and lower non in motion sat system. The Travler will get full HD on both Direct or Dish. Doug
What Doug says !! We have had Dish since day one, and about 18 months ago, got rid of the in motion device that came with the coach and bought the Winegard Travler, which gets all 3 Sats and has 2 LNBs, all is good. If the DW or kids just have to see something on tv, while I'm driving (note to self - teach someone else in the family to drive the RV), they can watch a movie in the bedroom !!!!!
