In Florida you need an endorsement on your driver's license to drive a MOTORCYCLE on the road. Nothing for an RV.
I have seen so many white knuckle MH drivers planted in the right hand lane at 10-20 MPH below the average highway speed that I totally agree that they all should have some type of training/test to insure that they have the abilities needed to share the road with others.
Not all of those planted in the right hand lane are there just to save fuel. Just looking at the drivers as I pass them it is easy to tell they are not comfortable behind the wheel of their rig. Watching them maneuver in a parking lot, or an RV park, confirms that some people just do not have the skills needed to safely drive a large RV.
I am all for anything that would make ALL people safer on the highways.
The posting today about the fatal accident because of a front tire blow out should never of happened. A tire blow out is NOT a reason to lose control for a driver that is properly trained. If it really was a front tire blow out, that accident was preventable with proper training.
