I have witnessed many scary things while traveling and talked to so many A drivers that didn't have a clue of any mechanical systems.....or anything about anything except how to unlock the door.
I believe this is a threat to all on the road and not suggesting a permit just education.......maybe like a hunter safety course....
After all an A is sometime as big as an 18 wheeler and with nowhere near the safety systems.....
What do you think?
As long as it don't become another law, it would be a great idea for dealers to offer motorhome driving instructions before letting you go. I mean let it be an option. Also anyone buying a DP with air brakes,, you really should get the DOT air brake test booklet. it is filled with so many wonderful lessons on how to properly maintain test and understand how air brakes operate and how they diabolically oppose hydraulic brakes. learn how to properly do a pre-trip inspection. and testing slack. I would love to see RC dealers offer a week course on pre-purchase classes on Motorhomes and how they also differ from a normal passenger car. No laws please. but courses that are optional, I think the classes would be full. and a great opportunity to have a captive potential customer base at the same time.
