Keep you eyes on the road instead of trying to see how someone else is driving.
It is very easy to see the panic on the driver's face, in his mirror, as you approach. I also keep an eye on the vehicle next to me because I expect those scared drivers to do something stupid, like drift into my lane as I pass. It is called defensive driving to be aware of what is going on in front of you and what is going on all around you. Proper training teaches all about defensive driving. :B
