I have witnessed many scary things while traveling and talked to so many A drivers that didn't have a clue of any mechanical systems........
My guess is 99% of the people driving on the road in ANY vehicle are NOT mechanics. :B
The other 1% are licensed mechanic and they can be involved in and cause of an accident just like everyone else. Their knowledge of how to replace a piston does not make them any safer of a driver.
Knowing what and how an engine, drive train, etc., works or being capable of fixing it does not equate to driving capabilities.:R
If you are basing your concerns on overall length of the vehicle.
Then you would have to include EVERY single vehicle that pulls a trailer from the construction worker, horse owner pulling a trailer, and all the other drivers pulling RV's....After all an A is sometime as big as an 18 wheeler...
I have yet to see a MH that is as long as an 18 wheel Semi tractor trailer. Is Prevost making a double stretch coach now that I don't about?!!:W
I agree with You! I have a CDL A and I'm Not a mechanic. I have Not seen a MH A as long as a Tractor pulling a 53' trailer. Some of the largest frieght companies e.g. Swift, Stevens, JB Hunt, to name a few have their tractors speed set between 62 and 68mph. I drive in the right hand lane or center lane depending, at a slower speed for safty and to save. As of yet, i have never seen a RV'er driving unsafely in a A or any other RV. No matter how long You have been driving, no matter what you have been driving, everyone makes mistakes and has to learn to deal with others mistakes... I have yet to see a Class A MH driver talking on a cell when driving, i can't say that for tractor trailer (18 wheeler) drivers. One out of ten i see are on the phone, and that's scary. Maybe that's why so many are flipping over around here in NJ and PA.
