Do Class A drivers need instructions before driving

I have witnessed many scary things while traveling and talked to so many A drivers that didn't have a clue of any mechanical systems.....or anything about anything except how to unlock the door. ...

To get a CDL you not only have to pass the written test but you also must pass the drivers test. Atleast that is what was required to get my CDL. I also had top pass a DOT physical.
