If a person has never driven a big class A, he/she should take some kind of driving instructions to familiarize themselves with such a wide and long vehicle. I do not believe on special license or anything like that, but you should have some knowledge of what you are driving.
As to the comment that a coach does not have the safety equipment that a eighteen wheeler has is not correct. Coaches have every safety feature that is on a eighteen wheeler.
