Do Class A drivers need instructions before driving

I have witnessed many scary things while traveling and talked to so many A drivers that didn't have a clue of any mechanical systems.....or anything about anything except how to unlock the door. ...

Fastcars, i also have a Class A CDL and have no classroom training, no other training and only have to renew my med card every 2 years. Why do you have to go through so much more ? Company rule ? Or the state you live in ?
