Since I have braided stems and a TPMS and have used them continuously for the past seven years with no problems, I would have to say your statement is a myth.....I have heard of no failures of the TPMS due to braided stems....I use rubber stems on my toad and have had no problems with them either....the 502 system no longer suggests metal stems....Dennis
