Do not use awnings in heavy rain?????? Really???

The awning on our 2015 ACE when we got it extended almost straight out. This just looked like it would be a problem with rain collecting on top. The owners manual tells how to adjust the pitch so I set it to maximum pitch and it works fine in the rain. This does nothing to make it more stable in wind so we have to be mindfull of that and run it in when not there as well as when it is windy. Nowhere near as stable as our old manual awning, but I like it a lot better because it is a lot easier. Jim.
