Makes no difference if it is $10,000 trailer or a $500,000 motorhome. They ALL have the same limitations in respect to awnings. Has been for the 40 years I have been in the RV business. AS others stated, you CAN use them in the rain, but at your own peril. Your comment reminds of what some of my customers have stated when they are upset about an appliance in their RV----" I PAID $175,000 for this awning(TV/Microwave/any appliance) and it will not function like I want it too". I guess the rest of the Motorhome was thrown in free:B The disclaimer and limitations have ALWAYS been part of the Awning manuals. Doug
