When we bought our Class C, we didn't really appreciate how much we'd use the Generator. We bought it 800 miles from home and used it on the drive home to heat up lunch without having to stop. Having the generator allowed us to get out of the established campgrounds more. We used the Motorhome for day trips to the beach and lake. We'd take it to kids sporting events and tournaments. We even camped out in the ball fields' parking lot for weekend long tournaments.
During Hurricane Matthew last year, we were without power for a couple days. We parked the Motorhome in the driveway, fired up the generator and ran an extension cord into the house to power the fridge, tv, recharge cell phones, etc. The generator ran for 2 days straight without an issue. We were even able to wash clothes (had to hang dry everything since our drier is electric).
Our Motorhome was 32' long and the dash air was not sufficient to cool down the entire house while driving. In the summer in GA, A/C throughout the house is a must. Fire up the generator and put the A/C on. Everyone is comfortable and happy. It's nice to walk into a cool camper after setting up camp on a hot day.
I wouldn't be without a generator in a Motorhome.
