Yes I have had a spare for the last 15 years of travel. I also carry sockets and breaker bars to remove and replace the tire. Having said that I had two incidences where I thought I would have had to change tires, one was in Alaska when I hit a pot hole and bent both rims on the MH and tow car. I straighten the rims with a hammer and the tires held air. The second was a flat tire crossing the border from Canada. I was able to fix it with a plug kit. I also carry two fire extinguishers but have never had to use them either.
