Do you carry a spare tire?

Just wondering if you all carry a spare tire or if you rely on roadside assistance programs. On our last motorhome, I payed to have a spare tire carrier made and mounted under the rear. I'm wondering if I should do the same for our new one.

  • We carry Roadside, a cell phone, and a spare credit card.

Hopefully we never need any of them.
  • I just bought a used motorhome that came with the spare tire carrier on the hitch and a spare. The spare was just the tire. I weighed them both and they totaled 180 pounds. I decided to remove it and not replace (the spare was an original from 2011).
  • Carry unmounted spare, had a bad experience with a service truck sent by our road service, 12 years ago.
  • I don't have a spare tire on my DP and no flats in 6+ years.

    Bill
  • I always carry a spare, in fact I have 3 spares..

Yes I can also change my 19.5's without a issue..
  • Tire blow outs scare the hell out of me. So I stay well within wear, age limits, and common sense values. My Tires are Michelins XA3s placed in service by Les Schawb and they will do road service. plus free in house service, so No I do not carry a spare.
  • My 2005 southwind had one used it 2 times in 10 years it made things easer
  • I haven’t carried one yet in the past 4 years of travelling. I bought new tires recently, but I think I might just carry my spare tire only, not the rim, in case roadside repair does not have one. I find the whole unit is too big and heavy to deal with.
