I can answer the insurance question. If you are renting it out, you would be operating a business and would need the appropriate business licenses and business liability insurance (not cheap). If you have a personal policy on the motorhome but are indeed renting it, there is no coverage for business use. Coverage would come under the proper business insurance. You would pay too much for licensing and insurance to rent it out casually to only friends. You would need to rent it on a regular basis to make money and then spend it for repairs and upgrades because of wear and tear. No, we won't even loan ours to anyone.
