I'm definitely in the camp of having to go through a number of motorhomes to get to our full-timing rig (28 to 32 to 38 foot). I recall a survey done a couple of years ago about the perfect size of a motorhome... interestingly enough, a majority thought that a motorhome 3-4 longer than their current motorhome was the ideal length... regardless of their current size! LOL! Of course, I wonder what happens if you have a 45 footer and want bigger???
For me, it's been about getting the shortest RV that I could stand to live in. I've had the 38 footer for about 5 years and it seems to fit nicely. If I went to a 42 or 45 footer, the primary addition would be a rear bath (which we don't need/desire) and a tag axle (which is an attraction... but not for $100-200k more).
I'd also be really curious about why there are so many big rigs in the lots... Did they lose their appeal to drive/care for them? Did they give-up on RVing altogether? Was it simply downsizing?
