Ok, so I sold the 35ft gasser and purchased a new diesel with a domestic fridge. Now wife is worried that we only have one source of power. 110V shore power. I know the generator will product the need...

A 150+ amp alternator will hardly know when the refrigerator is running off the inverter as it only takes 8-10 amps 12v DC to run it...the same as a 100W light bulb. One battery will run it for more than 12 hours before needing to recharge when boondocking as the compressor runs less than half the time.
As Doug said, you should have an inverter which may need to be turned on.
