Fridge is 16-17 yrs old.
So could be control board.
Just for giggles have your tried a power-on reset
Set the refrigerator controls to "OFF".
Unplug the refrigerator dc power
Wait 20 minutes.
Re-connect dc power.
Also...do you have any fluorescent lights in kitchen?
