I understood your point. My point was that you can't do that. The computer will upshift on its own if you try to over-rev it (but obviously it can't upshift anymore in top gear).
I understand perfectly now.
If I build up enough nerve, the next time I find myself in this scenero, I will hold out and wait for the transmission to up-shift for me. It would be good to experience it in action.....at least one time anyway. :)
