From Boston I would take the Mass Pike to I 87 south to I 84 to I 81 south to I 77 south to I 26 east to I 95 south. No tolls and a less stressful ride. We are travelling that route now. The roads and traffic are good to VA. except a little rough the first 10 miles in PA
