We do this too. However, I first walk around then the DW walks around. Be surprised what I have missed on the first walk around.
In our case, since our Safari is a Monaco product, prior to pulling in the slides, I have to fire up the engine and build up air pressure to level the coach for the highway....then I shut the engine down and pull in the slides. I know, it seems to be odd, but that's the way Monaco engineers designed it.
So, we have NO provisions for knowing the slides are out unless we "look".
