The generator will use about or less than 1 gallon per hour. So if you are driving 60 MPH in the mountains and getting 6 MPG, that is 10 GPH and add the generator's 1/2 to 1 gallon and you will have a total of about 10.5 - 11 GPH.
If you are getting 8 MPG and going 60, that is about 7.5 GPH, and going to 8 GPH will mean you are getting slightly less than 8 MPG, perhaps 7.5 MPG.
Really if you are comfortable, that is what it is all about. So what if it costs another $2 per hour to drive the RV?
