Anyone driven their motor home to Sacreamento Metro to pickup or drop off a passenger? Is their anywhere to park for a an hour or so. I'll be in a 38' motor home with a tow vehicle. Thanks
Brian
There is Sacramento "International" and Sacramento "Executive" airports. I'm not sure which one you are referring to by "metro." My guess is international which is on I-5 between Sac and Woodland. I would not want to negotiate an A in and out of the cell parking lot. Buses deliver passengers to the terminal all the time. The bus lane is in the far left as you enter the terminal area. I would use that route, drop your passengers off there and let them walk (very short distance) to the terminal area. It's essentially just a walk across 4 lanes in the designated crossing area. - RollnhomeExplorerI drove my Class a with towed right thru the pick up lane got my passenger and was on our way.
- outboardfeverExplorerSac Metro has what is called the Cell Phone Lot, it is a large lot where you can wait for free, then when your pickup arrives they can call you for pickup. I have used it many times and it is large. One of the few things Sac has ever done well. I believe it shows on the Airport web site.
- kalynzooExplorerSince you have the toad you could park by the Arco Arena and drive the few miles. As mentioned there are also a few very large shopping centers only a few miles away. There is a "Cell Phone Parking Area" but I don't know what kind of access (tight turns etc) it might have. Also, you do have all those overhead signs for direction, and I never took notice of the heights. Although it is a nice regional airport, with wide roads, it still is congested with people rushing to get in and out. I'd take the toad.
- msmith1199Explorer IIIf you got your toad there are shopping centers near by. Just leave the motorhome and take the toad into the airport.
- msmith1199Explorer IINever did it, but it's not a really packed in airport. They have a cell phone lot but I've never been in it so I don't know if you could get a motorhome in it or not. At the freeway over pass if you go to the other side of the bridge the road dead ends I know there are some large empty spaces over there where you could wait.
