I wasn't sure if there would be a clearance issue between the tow bar and the bike rack and I didn't want to find out the hard way with a handle bar poking thru the rear cap. Preempted modification to a $50 eBay bike rack.
There's a couple of different styles on duel receivers that should work for what you want. The Roadmaster is pretty shout and would make a good boat anchor. Other's I've seen are a bit lighter on the second receiver and are intended to bike racks or other none towing applications. The other end of the tow bar is connected to a 98 Honda Accord which sits a bit lower than the coach hitch. If I ever decide to use my CRV as a dingy I'll probably dispense with the dual receiver and hang the bikes off the back of it.
