Dual wheel inflation

I am getting a new RV with dual wheels. I have a portable 120V Craftsman air compressor that has a fitting with a tab you flip to clamp on to a schraeder valve. Then you read the pressure on the compressor dial gage and run it until the tire is inflated. It works fine where you can clamp directly on to the schraeder valve.

Is there some kind of tool I can use with this same compressor to inflate the inside tires of a dual wheel RV?

    Ditto
  • Everyone has their way and their opinion, as that's what works best for them.

Here's my solution to the problem of checking and filling the inner dual. I also added a short extender neck to the outer dual.
I was my opinion when I first got a unit with duals that it would be easier to check the outer dual than the inner - I found I could reach in and check the inner with the long gauge, but the inner was darn near impossible. Opinion changed!

Having the long tire valves in the inner certainly helps, but I also like to rotate my tires so I'd have to have the long inner swapped every time. I'd much rather do what I'm doing.
  • The guages that are installed on those portable air compressors are not reliable...NAPA auto parts carries quality dual foot chucks and guages or if a NAPA isn't available use Meyers Tire Supply on line...they are a major supplier to the tire industry. As for the valve stems on your wheels they should be brass/metal.
  • I replaced the hose and use a regular tire inflator for mine. I have an OLD Sears/Campelhausfield.
  • The inner wheels should have a valve extension hose which is easily accessible. The outer wheels have a straight valve aimed directly toward the inner wheel most times, which makes filling sort of a pain without the proper dual air chuck.
you might be able to get your connector on it if it does clamp and hold.
of course I'm just talking about how mine is, yours may be different.
