I have Dually valve stems installed for 5 years without any problems. Would like to know what problems your son experienced, and reason company stopped using them. If there are issues I would really like to know.

Carl, I also am very curious to hear more about this. This is the first negative thing I've heard ANYWHERE, about dually valves.
I did some searching. This same poster (wny_pat), up until a year or two ago was highly recommending the dually valves. He said in one post that they were "100%" better than braided extensions. On more than one occasion when this subject came up, he recommended Dually valves over anything else.
..Would really like to know more specifics of just what made someone flip 100% like this in the course of just 2 years. Perhaps there's been a misunderstanding somehow, of just what product we are talking about?
