Braided extensions are wonderful. 14 years, 126000 miles and 4 sets of tires and never a problem. However, I am the only one that installs them when the tires are being changed. I make sure that they do not rub on the wheel holes , that they are tight and that they are securely fasetned to the the outer wheel / wheel liner.
Yes, if you secure the braided extensions so that they never rub against the wheel holes, they'd probably be pretty trouble free.
However, its still a flexible extension, so they are still a bit susceptible to damage and eventual leaking if road debris hits one just right. That, and since they are still an extension, they introduce one more potential place for air leaks (where it attaches to valve stem).
I really prefer/like having one piece, solid valve stems on all 6 tires. Allows for a bit more peace of mind, knowing that there's 4 less potential failure point for the rear tires. Also really, really like that checking the MH's tire pressures is now almost as simple as it is with a regular car. No more having to remove wheel covers on rear tires, and no special valve or chuck needed. Checking, airing up the MH tires went from being a 20 minute job, to a 2 minute job. :)
Oh, on another note: I'm still waiting to hear why 'wny_pat' thinks these dually valves are now suddenly no good, but highly recommended them up until a year or two ago?

Sorry Will, my mistake. Some how I thought I was talking about the Crossfire system. I have no problems at all with Dually Valves. But do with Crossfire.
Hehe, you beat me to it, I was just coming to this thread to post the clarification, based on what you said in the other thread.
Glad we got that straightened out. Happy camping. :)
