Well,
As stated, in one way it depends on the established system in the coach. We have an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the 330 CAT and, it has the HWH manual or automatic leveling. In the automatic mode, all I have to do is push the "on" button twice. When I do that, I simply get out of the coach and let it do it's thing. If first drops the air in the bags which, takes about 20-25 seconds, then it analyzes what jacks have to come down first. Then, it brings down the remaining jacks for stabilization and, then shuts itself down.
To answer your question, dumping the bags takes seconds. Even if you're only going to be in that spot for one day, drop the bags, put the jacks down for stabilization and, whatever leveling is needed and enjoy a nice day. At least each and every time you leave and enter the coach it will be stable and not rock around because you didn't lower the bags.
If I want to do it manually, I simply turn the system on and then push the "dump" button for the bags. Then, I level as needed. Then, I put the slide(s) out. Works for us.
